Mid Century Modern Hampton

Built in 1956, this iconic home has become one of renowned architect Neil Clerehan’s (1922-2017) greatest remaining legacies. Working together with Robin Boyd, Clerehan defined mid-century architecture in Melbourne. In 1954, Clerehan designed a demonstration home to showcase the latest in modern residential design, construction and furnishing.

The current owners recently engaged
Sydney-based celebrated architect Julian Brenchley to re-imagine the home while keeping all the iconic elements like the glass walls and panelled walls.

Working with my clients on a temporary styling project, we worked to zone the large spaces and create a furnishing solution which was modern but also sympathetic to the period. Two gorgeous border collies and three teens live in this happy family home and it was a joy to push the boundaries.
